About startup-financial-modeling

startup-financial-modeling
Build comprehensive 3-5 year financial models
startup-financial-modeling is an agent skill from the wshobson/agents collection for building three- to five-year financial models for early-stage startups. The model provides the quantitative basis for strategy, fundraising and operational planning, and the skill sets out how to make the projections realistic. Its revenue model is built on cohorts: revenue comes from customers acquired in each period and how well they are retained, rather than from a single growth rate. The skill also covers cost structures, cash flow analysis, which tracks when cash comes in and goes out, and scenario analysis, which tests the model under optimistic, base and pessimistic assumptions. The output is meant to support decisions and to be presented to investors, so the assumptions behind each number should be stated and defensible. It applies when building a multi-year projection, modeling revenue from acquisition and retention, planning costs, analyzing cash flow and runway, and comparing scenarios. A financial model is only as good as its assumptions, and the skill does not supply market data, so the inputs should come from the founders' own customer and cost data, and the model should be reviewed by a finance-literate person before it is used in decisions or shared. The skill is installed with the skills CLI from the wshobson/agents repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 12.3K installs and passing results from three security audits at the time of the scan.
